Born in Hilton, NY, Dan began riding at the age of 5 years. For the next ten years he concentrated on riding, horsemanship and showing, emphasizing the English riding discipline of Hunter Under Saddle and Jumping. At age 16, following what was to be a summer job at a horse farm in Texas, Dan actually launched his horse career working as a trainer and rider for prominent horse farms in Texas, Louisiana, Florida and New York. During this time, Dan developed his own methods for training, barn management and horse care. He was also successful in the show circuit as he represented his clients and rode their exceptional horses. Dan’s achievements include State Club Championships for Hunter Under Saddle and Western Pleasure in New York and Pennsylvania, Circuit Championships in the states of New Jersey, Massachusetts, Delaware, Virginia and West Virginia. In addition to Dan’s personal accomplishments, Dan led one of his clients and their horse, Indycision, to place 4th in the nation in the Youth Hunter Under Saddle Division. This impressive record continues here in Treasure Lake as Dan and his clients have just finished a successful show season, with awards in the AQHA shows in Pennsylvania, New York and Virginia. Dan has affiliations with the National Snaffle Bit Association, the American Quarter Horse Association, the Appaloosa Horse Association, the Paint Horse Association and the Palomino Horse Association.
my, born and raised in the Du Bois area, brings to the Stables over thirty years of riding, teaching and training experience. Amy’s love of horses began in her early years as she competed in the show ring under the United States Equestrian Federation (formerly the American Show Horse Association). The mission statement of The United States Equestrian Federation is to provide leadership for equestrian sport in the United States of America, promoting the pursuit of excellence from the grass roots to the Olympic Games, based on a foundation of fair, safe competition and the welfare of its human and equine athletes, and embracing this vision, to be the best national equestrian federation in the world. Amy was successful in achieving Medals status for Equitation Over Fences at a height of 3’6. Continuing her successful riding career, Amy qualified for the Penn State Equestrian Team and qualified for the Intercollegiate National Competition as well as the Invitational Competition both held in Lexington, Kentucky. Following this illustrious career, Amy managed a breeding farm based on the famous reining stallion Mr. Imperial Doc. Amy now brings this experience to the Treasure Lake Stables where she is managing the Lesson Program and is developing a Therapeutic Riding Program in compliance with the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA).
